Keanu Reeves will return to his role as John Constantine in a sequel to the 2005 superhero film Constantine. 
Details about the plot and cast for the sequel are currently under wraps. The original Constantine movie focused on the DC Comics character created by John Totleben, Stephen R. Bissette, Rick Veitch, and Alan Moore, depicting an exorcist entangled in a battle between celestial forces.
The 2005 film received mixed reviews but was successful with audiences, grossing over $230 million. A live-action series featuring Matt Ryan as Constantine aired in 2014 but lasted only one season. The character was also featured in several other DC Comics-based series.
Although a female version of Constantine appeared in the recent Netflix series The Sandman, the previously planned HBO Max series was canceled in favor of the movie. Reeves had expressed interest in reprising his role in the past, noting his fondness for the character and the world.
