But Selena Gomez was determined that she wouldn’t be one of them when she arrived in the Big Apple on Thursday.

The actress and singer managed to achieve a look that was both chic and cosy to ensure she made an entrance as she touched down in the city.

The 20-year-old looked snug in a denim coat with a thick sheepskin lining.

She wore it over a leather jacket, and also had a brown knitted scarf wrapped around her neck for extra insulation.

The star was also sporting a black tank top and dark skinny jeans tucked into battered brown heeled ankle boots.

Selena kept her accessories simple with a soft leather handbag which boasted leopard print lining and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.

The brunette, who wore her glossy locks loose, certainly didn’t look like she had just stepped off a five-hour flight.

The former Disney star, who recently split from on-again off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, has recently been shedding her wholesome image.

She stars in gritty new drama Spring Breakers as a college student who along with her friends robs a convenience store to fund her spring break.

A trailer was just released for the movie, which is scheduled to hit cinemas in March.

Selena also poses on a racy cover of Nylon magazine in just a basketball vest over a bikini.

She chatted to the publication about her friendship with country star Taylor Swift.

‘We both experienced the same things at the same time,’ Selena said. ‘But we’ve never once talked about our industry. She just became the person I’d go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It’s so hard to trust girls, so I’m lucky to have her.’
